K2 Cinch

K2 Cinch
The K2 Cinch binding undoubtedly "borrows" its design from Flow. The Cinch has a highback that flips down, allowing you to strap in without undoing the straps each time. The Cinch does use traditional straps instead of Flow's sock design.

The K2 Cinch is a freestyle or all-mountain binding that provides a little flex. Many people prefer the Cinch to a Flow style binding because of the traditional straps instead of the Flow sock system. Several riders have also suggested that the Cinch is compatible with more boot types than Flow bindings. Either way, the K2 Cinch is almost always highly recommended.

The Cinch is available in a full range of sizes and in black and white (pictured). The Cinch is also available in a CTX model which comes in white/carbon.

These bindings broke before even hitting the slopes then after a long troublesome repair process with K2, they only got me though one season, they broke again right at the end of the year, don’t wast your money. They are weak and heavy!

After one season of heavy use I am very happy with them. I am 6’3″ and stared the season over 200 pounds. They held up fine and never needed any tightening or adjustment. Rear exit/entry could be cleaner, but I think the fact that I wear a wide pair of size 14 boots might explain that. Rear exit is very nice if you find a tree well or get burried in the pow. Heavy? Maybe. I guess that could be a consideration if you are hiking instead of riding. Skating off the lift and stepping into your binding in a few seconds while your friends drop down into the snow to spend a minute or two ratcheting in – priceless.

I bought the 2nd generation cinch ctc and could not be more happy with them. They got me through three seasons and two trips out west. I ride hard and fast and the response from even a base line was superb. I also love the speed of strapping in right of the lift. Usually, I don’t even stop to strap in. Overall, buy these bindings if you like a balance of speed getting of the lift and response.
